About Us
Del Mundo Group began its journey in the food and beverage industry on December 6, 2016, with the opening of its first store, Mesa Filipino Restaurant at SM East Ortigas, franchised from FOODEE Global. Guided by the vision of our founder, Mr. Nelson del Mundo, and the leadership of Chief Operating Officer Matthew Ablis and Finance & Operations Officer Lorena Berja, the group has grown into a dynamic player in the Philippine dining scene.
Founding & Early Expansion
From its strong foundation in Filipino dining concepts such as Mesa Filipino Restaurant and Pancake House, Del Mundo Group has since expanded into exciting new ventures, including the introduction of OLDTOWN White Coffee-a globally renowned and authentic Malaysian brand, loved for its signature white coffee and hearty Malaysian dishes. By bringing OLDTOWN White Coffee to the Philippines, the group proudly shares a world-class dining experience that celebrates Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage while creating a new go-to destination for Filipino coffee and food lovers.
Innovation & Original Concepts
Today, Del Mundo Group continues to innovate with its portfolio of both franchise brands and original dining concepts, such as Hayashi Yakiniku and Ramen Bari Uma & Buchiton. With a focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth, we are committed to elevating dining experiences across the country. Our mission is to deliver authentic flavors, meaningful connections, and exceptional value-shaping the future of the Philippine food and beverage industry, one brand and one community at a time.
Further Expansion & Success
Driven by a passion for growth and excellence, Mr. Nelson del Mundo continued to explore new opportunities. In November 2021, the group introduced Buchiton Japanese Ramen, an authentic ramen brand from Hiroshima, Japan. The concept was warmly embraced by Filipino diners, leading to the successful opening of three Buchiton branches.
Buchiton highlights the rich tradition of Hiroshima ramen, celebrated for its creamy tonkotsu broth, slow-braised chashu, and perfectly springy noodles. Each bowl reflects the heart of Japanese dining culture, bringing the depth and comfort of authentic ramen to Manila.
Exploring New Horizons
Following the pandemic, Del Mundo Group sought to diversify its offerings even further. This led to the introduction of OLDTOWN White Coffee, an international brand specializing in white coffee. The first branch opened at SM Grand Central and has since expanded to eight branches, with more on the horizon. Mr. Del Mundo and his team underwent rigorous training in Malaysia to master the authentic flavors and operational excellence of OLDTOWN White Coffee, ensuring that the brand’s high standards are maintained in the Philippines.
A Crave for Korean Flavor
Cravy Korean Fried Chicken brings the bold, irresistible taste of Korea straight to Filipino diners. Each piece is double-fried for the perfect crunch, then glazed with sauces that capture the sweet, savory, and spicy flavors of true Korean comfort food.
Favorites like Soy Garlic, Singapore Cereal, and Yangnyeom highlight the rich tradition of K-culture dining while giving every bite a balance of crispness and tenderness. More than just chicken, Cravy reflects the energy and excitement of Korea—delivering a dining experience that feels vibrant, indulgent, and truly crave-worthy.
Grilling Moments Together
From marinated pork belly to tender beef cuts, every bite is smoky, satisfying, and authentically Japanese. With value sets designed for groups, Hayashi Yakiniku turns every visit into a celebration of food, friendship, and shared joy.
A Bowl of Comfort
At Ramen Bari Uma, every bowl tells the story of authentic Japanese ramen. Known for its rich tonkotsu broth and perfectly chewy noodles, Bari Uma has become a comforting destination for those who long for the warmth of true Japanese flavors.
The signature Ajitama-Uma Ramen, paired with tender chashu pork and a seasoned soft-boiled egg, offers harmony in every spoonful. With sides like gyoza and karaage, Bari Uma creates not just a meal but a moment of indulgence—perfect for quick lunches, cozy dinners, or late-night cravings.

Vision & Mission
With a solid foundation in franchised operations, Del Mundo Group ventured into creating its own unique dining concepts. In July 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, they launched their first original restaurant concept, Hayashi Yakiniku, a Japanese restaurant located on Mariveles Street in Mandaluyong.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Hayashi Yakiniku quickly gained popularity, leading to the opening of two more branches. Additionally, the group expanded their Japanese cuisine offerings with Hayashi Home of Katsu, which now boasts four branches.
