Del Mundo Group (DMG) is taking a deliberate approach to expanding OldTown White Coffee in the Philippines—one that looks beyond Metro Manila and focuses on growth in the Visayas and Mindanao.
As reported by BusinessWorld, DMG plans to invest ₱400 million over the next five years to expand OldTown White Coffee’s footprint in these regions, opening 20 new cafés as part of its long-term strategy.
Rather than concentrating solely on established urban centers, DMG has begun its regional expansion in Zamboanga City, where it recently opened an OldTown White Coffee branch on Pasananca Road. The city was cited as a growing hub for business and tourism, making it a strategic location for expansion.
DMG’s approach reflects a broader view of where demand is emerging—recognizing the increasing economic activity and consumer base outside Metro Manila.
According to DMG, the expansion will cover key locations across the Visayas and Mindanao, with site selection guided by factors such as commerce, tourism, and local market potential. The goal is not simply to increase store count, but to establish a meaningful presence in regions where growth opportunities are accelerating.
OldTown White Coffee currently operates more than 200 outlets globally, and DMG serves as the brand’s licensee in the Philippines.
While maintaining OldTown White Coffee’s established brand identity, DMG emphasized that its cafés are intended to reflect the markets they serve. This localized approach aims to ensure that each branch aligns with the character and needs of its surrounding community, while delivering a consistent customer experience.
Beyond brand expansion, DMG highlighted the broader economic impact of its investment. Each new café contributes to job creation, skills development, and local supply chain activity—allowing the benefits of expansion to remain within the regions where the stores operate.
For DMG, the Visayas–Mindanao expansion represents a long-term commitment to regional growth. By investing in these markets, the group is positioning OldTown White Coffee as part of the everyday commercial and social landscape in cities outside the capital
